WASHINGTON (November 2, 2023) - Systems Change Lab partners, the Bezos Earth Fund, Climate Action Tracker, Climate Analytics, NewClimate Institute and World Resources Institute, will host an embargoed press call to preview the State of Climate Action 2023 report on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 9:00-10:00 am EST / 15:00-16:00 CET. This report offers the world's most comprehensive roadmap on what every major sector needs to do to close the GHG emissions gap and limit warming to 1.5°C.

Releasing ahead of the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, the State of Climate Action 2023 translates the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C temperature limit into targets for 2030 and 2050 across sectors and assesses progress made thus far. The sectors covered include power, buildings, industry, transport, forests and land, food and agriculture, technological carbon removal and climate finance.

Authors will provide a high-level overview of the report, speak to its relevance to the Global Stocktake process at COP28, and surface takeaways across each sector.
